Welcome to TWLEN

A Trusted Partner for Resilient, Inclusive Communities

Turkana Women Livestock & Enterprise Network (TWLEN) is a women-led and legally registered Community-Based Organization (CBO) based in Turkana County, Kenya.

Founded in March 2026 by members of successful Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), TWLEN brings together women, youth, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and pastoralist communities to lead sustainable solutions that improve livelihoods, strengthen resilience, and promote inclusive development.

Working in one of Kenya's most climate-vulnerable regions, we address the interconnected challenges of climate change, recurrent drought, poverty, food insecurity, unemployment, environmental degradation, and social exclusion — empowering communities through climate-smart livestock development, sustainable agriculture, women's economic empowerment, financial inclusion, environmental conservation, and community-led innovation.
